FRESH PRODUCE 2015 Turbine Art Fair together with VANSA host Fresh Produce 2015. This exhibition is supported by RMB and curator Zanele Mashumi has selected work by young artists at the beginning of their careers from around South Africa, to be exhibited as part of the Fresh Produce Exhibition at the Turbine Art Fair which will take place in July 2015.
The Fresh Produce portfolio reviews ran successfully over the months of February to April in Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Over 70 portfolios were viewed and whittled down to a selection of 9 great artists from around the country. The 9 selected artists include:

Thandiwe Msebenzi (Cape Town)
Bev Butkow (Johannesburg)

Audrey Anderson (Johannesburg)
The works to be exhibited included photography, work on paper, painting and sculpture. This year, the Fresh Produce Exhibition is curated by Zanele Mashumi. The artists will also gain valuable professional practice skills from a training programme in Johannesburg with Assemblage. This programme will take place from the 13th of July 2015. Five artists from out of town will be brought to Johannesburg to join the Johannesburg based artists for both the training and to be part of the fair.
This ongoing programme hopes to promote emerging artists, not yet represented by galleries to the next stage of their careers. The exhibition also provides collectors with an opportunity to invest in exciting new artists at the beginning of their career.
Assemblage
Assemblage is a non-profit organisation which intends for the visual arts community of Johannesburg to connect, to share ideas, information and advice and to collaborate. It provides an inclusive forum where visual art students, graduates and professionals can network. Assemblage encourages production, participation, professionalism and the sharing of resources, knowledge and skills. Through an informative website, peer mentoring groups, workshops, group exhibitions, artist studios and other collaborative projects, it hopes to contribute and promote artistic innovation, collaboration and a proactive vibrancy within Johannesburg.
